Maynard - WAVM 91.7 FM, Maynard High School's radio station, will be going back on the air Monday September 8, WAVM will continue to offer a wide variety of music for the public.

The 1980-81 broadcast season begins Sept. 8 at 7 a.m. with the Reveille Show. This hour long variety show includes an update on news, sports and weather. The station goes back on the air at 3 p.m. with easy listening. At 4 p.m. the "Big Bands" will be introduced with hits from the Swing era. At 5 p.m. enjoy the best of country music. At 6 p.m. WAVM presents their news and sports update. At 6:30 p.m. there will be ninety minutes of music from the fifties and sixties. At 8 p.m. relax into an hour of easy listening. At 9 p.m. an hour of rock and roll will close the show for the day.

A line-up of new shows is reserved for Wednesdays.

7 a.m. - Reveille Show. 3 p.m. - Sound tracks, (hit songs from movies and plays). 4 p.m. - Children's Hours. 5 p.m. International and Classical hour. 6-6:30 p.m. - news and sports. 6:30 p.m. Comedy Hour. 8 p.m. - Album feature hour. 9- 10 p.m. Amateur Hour (come on down to the station, broadcast and play your choice of songs).

During the course of the spectacular, WAVM will be broadcasting downtown in two locations. On Thursday September 11 from 3-8 p.m., the station will broadcast from Flipside Records on Main St. in Maynard. On Friday the 12th from 3-8 p.m., they will be located at MacDonalds on Main St.

The station is now working on a "Treasure Hunt", where valuable prize will be hidden around town. Any questions concerning the sign on spectacular or Amateur Hour show can be answered by calling WAVM's programming directors at 897-5213.
